The CFA Institute is rolling out a major update for the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝘀, starting with the 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻—and it’s a game-changer! 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 (𝗠𝗣𝗦) 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀, bringing more transparency and clarity to your CFA journey.

𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗜𝗜𝗜: 3000–3900 (𝗠𝗣𝗦: 𝟯𝟲𝟬𝟬)

✅ 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: You’ll see exactly how your score compares to the MPS, which is set using the modified Angoff method to ensure fairness across exam versions.

✅ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: If you’re retaking the exam, scale scores allow you to measure improvement across attempts. (Note: Pre-2025 attempts won’t have scale scores.)

✅ 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗮𝗺 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆: A 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗹 around your score helps you understand how close you were to passing. If it overlaps with the MPS, you’re 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲—a focused study plan can help you cross the line!

This update doesn’t change the 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀/𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻—that’s still based on the MPS—but it empowers you with deeper insights into your performance. For example:
📌 A Level I candidate scoring 𝟭𝟱𝟳𝟬 (𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗠𝗣𝗦) can use topic-level insights to target improvement.
